Wolgemuth, who is a Professional Skate Canada Coach, was a Disney On Ice Skater for eight years, travelling around the world, performing in nearly 60 countries with Disney.

“After many years of training, travelling the world and performing for thousands of people, my ultimate goal and passion is to pass on the love of skating to my community, and share all the incredible experiences and knowledge I have for the beautiful sport of figure skating,” said Wolgemuth.

The Steinbach Skating Club is working together with the Seine River Skating Club in offering the figure skating sessions this year.

Laura Reimer will join Wolgemuth as one of the instructors this year.

Online registration, with a registration deadline of Aug. 31, can be made at www.seineriverskating.ca. Additional information is available on the Skate Canada website, the Steinbach Skating Club Facebook page or for general information email steinbachskatingclub@gmail.com.

After registration, skaters will be placed on the correct group based on skating ability, test record, space, age and by the discretion of the programs coach.

Registrations are being accepted for the initial Fall Figure Skating sessions at the T.G. Smith Arena in Steinbach. There will be six sessions through the month of September, beginning Sept. 10.

Wolgemuth, a former national competitor and retired professional skater is a NCCP Skate Canada Professional coach and says she will also be working with local hockey teams this year at the “Golden Age of Learning,” enhancing their skating abilities by teaching techniques and efficiency, for quality execution and skill acquisition.

For the fall sessions, the Intro to StarSkate program introduces skaters to figure skating while continuing to work on fundamental skills. This program runs in conjunction with CanSkate and is a fully coached 45 minute group lesson. A CSA approved hockey helmet must be worn by all Intro to StarSkate participants.

StarSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of ice dance, skating skills, free skate and interpretive skating. Eastman Fall Skate offers private or group lesson formats.
