With their 24-game Manitoba Junior Baseball League regular season schedule now in the books, the Carillon Junior Sultans are set to their opening round playoff series against the St. Boniface Legionaires.

Game one in the best of three quarter-final series will be played Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m. at Whittier Park in Winnipeg. Game two in the series will be played Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at A.D. Penner Park in Steinbach.

These two teams are very familiar with each other as they just completed a weekend series at St. Boniface, splitting the two games, with the Legionaires crushing the Sultans 11-1 on Friday and then the Sultans bounced back to beat the Legionaires 8-3 Sunday afternoon in the final game of the MJBL regular season.

The Sultans finished sixth in the final standings with a 9-15 record while the Legionaires wound up third with a 13-11 mark.

The other first round match-ups will have second place Altona vs. seventh place Interlake; and fourth place St. James vs. fifth place Pembina Valley.  The pennant-winning Elmwood Giants received a bye in the opening round of the playoffs.

Should a deciding game in the Carillon – St. Boniface series be required, it would be played Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at Whittier Park.
