Ringette Manitoba is hosting a free event this weekend for children between the ages of 3 and 10 that will introduce them to the sport of ringette.

The Come Try Ringette Day is being held Sunday, Aug. 21 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the MTS Iceplex at Headingley.

The event is open to everyone in the province, and the focus will be on providing young children with an opportunity to try the sport of ringette in a fun environment.

On ice sessions take place at 12:15 p.m., 12:30 p.m., 2:45 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Interested families can register their children online at www.cometryringette.ca.

In addition, Manitoba’s new National Ringette League team will play their very first exhibition game at 1:30 p.m.

There will also be a Ringette Expo at the Iceplex during the day that will include: promotional giveaways, ringette merchandise and clothing, National Ringette Team meet and greet, Fitness Journal for girls table, information on ringette equipment and off-ice ringette themed games.
