About Heather Stefanson
When were you born?

Tell our readers a bit about your professional life. What do you do for a living? If you're an incumbent candidate, what did you do before you entered politics?
My background is in the finance industry, but I have been passionate about serving Manitobans for over 20 years. I have served as a government Minister in multiple portfolios, including the attorney general, and as premier. I want to make Manitoba the very best it can be, with the fastest growing economy in the country. With our PC vision, I know we can grow to 2 million strong.
What's the highest level of education you've attained?
Bachelor's degree
How long have you lived in the constituency? If you don't currently live there, what led you to run there instead of where you live?
I was born and raised in this constituency, and still live here today where I raised my family!
What is the biggest challenge facing your constituency, and how would you address it?
Cost of living. Manitobans are struggling to make ends meet, and we’re fighting to give them bigger paycheques. We’re the only party focused on safety, affordability and healing our healthcare system.
If elected, what will be your first priority?
Removing the NDP-Liberal carbon tax from Hydro in the first 10 days, ensuring our economic prosperity, and lowering income taxes to give Manitobans an extra paycheque.
Who are your role models in politics, and why?
Margaret Thatcher - a trailblazer woman in politics - as well as Stephen Harper, Rosemary Vodrey and Bonnie Mitchelson.
Tell us something about yourself that voters might find surprising.
Although I’ve been in politics a while, I don’t really enjoy the spotlight. I love politics because it’s about helping people and getting things done for the betterment of Manitobans but I prefer to work behind the scenes, in collaboration with others.
