Tell our readers a bit about your professional life. What do you do for a living? If you're an incumbent candidate, what did you do before you entered politics?

I am an entrepreneur and educator with extensive experience in public and post-secondary school systems. I am currently a Doctoral Candidate in Educational Leadership at the University of Saskatchewan where my research focuses on Social Justice and Equity, Inclusion, Indigenous Perspectives and International Contexts. I am a former Commissioner for the Manitoba K-12 Education Review Commission.

I have been an active member of the University College of the North Governing Council and Northern Regional Health Authority Board. I have chaired a number of board committees, including Finance, Policy, Learning Council and Indigenous Health & Human Resources.

I have worked extensively in Northern Manitoba, for Mystery Lake and Kelsey School Divisions, as well as for Brandon University, and other post-secondary institutions.

I hold degrees from the University of Manitoba and Barandon University, as well as Certification in Student Services and Educational Administration.

I have been actively involved with the Chambers of Commerce and am a Past President of the Thompson Chamber of Commerce. I am a passionate advocate for Responsible Sustainable Economic Development for Northern Manitoba.

What's the highest level of education you've attained?

Earned doctorate (PhD)

How long have you lived in the constituency? If you don't currently live there, what led you to run there instead of where you live?

I have lived in Thompson since 1980

What is the biggest challenge facing your constituency, and how would you address it?

Health Care provision here in the North is the biggest challenge. The Northern Health Authority covers a vast geographic area totaling 61% of Manitoba and is responsible to serve a population of approximately 50,000 people. That equates to 1 resident per sq. km on average. Our population faces many challenges identified by the Social Determinants of Health.

We require sustainable and responsible economic development, education and infrastructure enhancements.

If elected, what will be your first priority?

My first priority will be to move forward with the proposed improvements and enhancements necessary for Healthcare provision in this constituency. Staff recruitment and retention, infrastructure improvements and new construction are essential to improve the health and overall wellness of the residents of Northern Manitoba.

I would also tap into any Training and Recruitment Funds to secure opportunities for educational opportunities close to home in our region. We have the population, but lack ready access to training and education..

Who are your role models in politics, and why?

Former MP, Dorothy Dobie is a mentor of mine. She has been a great source of information and guidance. Dorothy has bolstered my confidence in my ability to become the next PC MLA for Thompson Constituency.

Manitoba PC Leader, Heather Stefanson has demonstrated all the foundational qualities necessary for a woman to be a successful leader.
Conservative Party of Canada Leader, Pierre Poilievre has demonstrated to me that from modest beginnings and the right attitude, great things are possible.

Tell us something about yourself that voters might find surprising.

I am an avid motorcycle enthusiast. I own Harley Davidson motorcycles and enjoy traveling in Canada and the USA by motorcycle.
