With the Hanover Tache Junior Hockey League wrapping up their regular season on Saturday, the league will head right into the playoffs this week as quarter-finals series will get underway on three fronts.

The defending champion Red River Mudbugs clinched first place in the loop with a 21-2-0-1 record, and a first round bye in the post-season.

Meanwhile, the second place Lorette Comets will face off against the last place Grunthal Red Wings in the best of five quarters, with that series slated to get underway Saturday at 8:00 p.m. at Ile des Chenes.

The other two match-ups will have the third place Springfield Xtreme vs. the sixth place Mitchell Mohawks, beginning Thursday at 8:00 p.m. in Mitchell; and the fourth place Steinbach Huskies will square off against the fifth place St. Adolphe Hawks, with game one Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. at St. Adolphe.

Results from the final few days of the regular season saw Lorette edge Red River 5-4 and Mitchell double Steinbach 6-3 on Thursday; Red River crushed Grunthal 9-2 and Springfield edged Steinbach 3-2 on Friday; and Lorette doubled St. Adolphe 6-3 and Springfield outscored Steinbach 5-3 in the final games on Saturday.
