Hanover LUDs outline five-year project plans

The RM of Hanover’s three local urban districts have submitted their five year capital project plans to the municipality.
Each list is projects the LUDs intend to complete, starting in 2017.
For 2017, the LUD of Mitchell outlines installing a drainage pipe on Centre Street North from Birch Street to the west side of the ball diamonds at a price tag of $70,000, paving the service road from Willow Street to Peters Lane for $50,000, paving Centre Street from the ball diamonds to the LUD’s North boundary for $125, 400 and installing a ‘Welcome to Mitchell’ sign on east end of town.
In 2018, the LUD intends to pave Walnut Avenue from 3rd Street to Centre Street for $155,000, install a sidewalk along Walnut Avenue from 3rd Street to Ash Street for $33,000 and install a ‘Welcome to Mitchell’ sign at west end of town.
The LUD plans to reconstruct Centre Street South from Highway 52 to Oakenwald Crescent’s south entrance for $290,000 in 2019.
In 2020, the LUD wants to install various paths and sidewalks within their boundaries.
The LUD’s last project on their five year plan is completing the ditch bottom on Reichenbach Road from Amberfield Drive to Orchard Hill Drive for $55,000.
The LUD of Blumenort’s plan for 2017 includes a storage shed, a through street on Rockridge Drive and a driveway on the north side of the gravel pit.
In 2018, the LUD intends to improve the roads on Aspen Drive and Penner Drive South.
The LUD plans to install a sidewalk on Rockridge Drive in 2019 and a bicycle path in 2020.
The LUD of Grunthal outlines a $20,000 mower and a $30,000 sidewalk as their capital projects for 2017.
In 2018, the LUD plans to upgrade Wiens Road and will request an additional grant from Hanover to help fund the project.
The LUD will upgrade various sidewalks to the tune of $60,000 in 2019.
In 2020, the LUD of Grunthal intends to provide a grant to the Grunthal Community Centre to help fund a kid’s splash park—similar to the grant the LUD of Blumenort provided to help fund their town’s splash park in 2014.
The LUD intends to complete some of Grunthal’s unfinished streets in 2021.
