Motorists face impaired driving charges

Steinbach RCMP released information Monday about two impaired driving incidents on Saturday and Sunday night.

Police were called to a disturbance on Fifth Street in Steinbach around 10 p.m. Saturday night. As they arrived at the scene, a vehicle approached and parked near the officers. After a conversation with the driver, police observed the man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. The 47-year-old Selkirk man was charged with impaired driving and refusing to provide a breath sample. He will appear in Steinbach court later this month.

On Sunday, around 10 p.m., police observed a vehicle driving on Park Road strike a curb and then drive in the Clearspring Centre parking lot. The male driver, a 37-year-old Pine Falls resident, was arrested and charged with impaired driving. He will appear in Steinbach court in January.
