La Broquerie byelection ballot set

A familiar face is vying for a seat in the La Broquerie council chamber once again.

In June, Ward 2 councillor Ken Tallaire resigned from council. A byelection date has been set for Sept. 2.

As of yesterday’s deadline for nominations two people have stepped forward to fill the vacant Ward 2 seat, Laurent Tetrault and Eric Wiens.

Tetrault, who held the municipality’s chief administrative officer title for decades, ran unsuccessfully for reeve in last fall’s municipal election, losing to winner Lewis Weiss by 29 votes.
