A provincial court judge is experiencing a role-reversal after being charged with impaired driving over the weekend.

Judge Michel Chartier was charged with driving impaired and driving over the legal limit of .08 by the Carberry RCMP on Mar. 13.

He was released on a promise to appear in a Brandon courtroom on Mar. 24.

As a result of his charges, Chartier has been placed on immediate administrative leave.

Chartier typically sits as the provincial court judge in St Pierre Jolys.
