A power outage in Steinbach’s northern end early Monday afternoon affected around 370 customers.

Manitoba Hydro turned off the power for about 15-20 minutes shortly after 1 p.m. to repair a broken tie wire, which connects the overhead lines with the insulators, at the intersection of Park and Industrial roads, said spokesperson Scott Powell.

Among the customers affected were the Clearspring Centre including Wal-Mart and Superstore.

Some stores, including Superstore and Sobeys, closed its doors during the outage.

Clearspring Centre manager Bob Frey said the mall remained open because of the emergency lighting they have installed.
