A Steinbach man has been charged for robbery and uttering threats following an incident yesterday evening. RCMP were called at around 7:45 p.m. by a witness complaining of two men fighting outside their vehicles in Steinbach. Police were told both men then got back into their vehicles and left. More witnesses contacted RCMP that a man got his vehicle stuck in the mud and appeared to be impaired.

Officers found the man walking away from his vehicle and learned that he had pulled another man out of vehicle, assaulted him and stole an item from the victim.

A 29-year-old Steinbach man was later located, in possession of alcohol and concealed weapons. Further investigation revealed the man was breaching a court order. He has been charged with robbery with violence, two counts of uttering threats, two counts of possessing a weapon dangerous to the public, failure to provide a breath sample and four counts breaching his court order. He was remanded into custody and will appear in court on Monday, April 14.
