Summer in the City will grow its Christian focus this June as it fully incorporates the annual Worship in the City event into the Steinbach festival. The worship event, which has in the past been held in K.R. Barkman Park, will this year grow to be a entire day focused on faith presented on the SCU Mainstage.
On Wednesday, it was announced that Blue Bomber legend Milt Stegall will be the guest speaker for the Sunday morning worship service and that musician Dan Bremnes, whose album Where The Light Is won the 2016 Juno for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of Year will headline a free evening concert.
Stegall, known for speaking engagements through organizations like Athletes in Action, is the second CFL icon to lead Worship in the City’s morning service, after Mike “Pinball” Clemons took on guest speaking duties in 2013.

Before Bremnes takes the stage on Sunday night, other Christian artists are expected to perform in free concerts throughout the day including Danny Plett and Project Worship, who will be featured during the morning service.
A freewill offering will be taken during the event with 50 percent of the offering going to non-profit charities in Steinbach.
