The 41-year-old product development manager at Barkman Concrete resides in Steinbach.

In an interview Tuesday, Patram said he plans to “continue building on the foundation we have.”

“We have a really fantastic board with such diverse sector representation,” he said.

One of his first tasks as president will be to lead the chamber’s annual strategic planning session later this fall.

Patram said he also wants to continue one of the chamber’s newest programs, a breakfast series for young business leaders.

“Hopefully they can take something from that and grow into their role,” he said.

Patram said he will also continue ongoing economic development discussions for Steinbach and surrounding areas.

The Steinbach Chamber of Commerce has about 460 members, Patram said, representing roughly 70 percent of businesses in the area.
