A STARS air ambulance transported an 81-year-old man to hospital Tuesday following a two-vehicle collision at the Friedensfeld turnoff.

Steinbach RCMP and the Steinbach Fire Department responded at 9:45 a.m. to the collision, which occurred at the intersection of Highway 12 and Provincial Road 303.

Preliminary investigation determined an eastbound vehicle, driven by the 81-year-old man, was struck on the side as it pulled out in front of a southbound vehicle, a Manitoba RCMP spokesperson said.
