Springfield-Ritchot MLA Ron Schuler was named caucus chair, announced in a Feb. 2 press release that also named McPhillips MLA Shannon Martin as caucus whip.
A long time MLA, Schuler was first elected in 1999, serving as a cabinet minister of crown services and infrastructure from 2016 until he was removed due to his views on COVID vaccinations by Premier Heather Stefanson in December 2021.
In a press release Schuler said he’s excited to help lead the PC team as they gear up for the spring session.

“Manitobans don’t want to go back to the dark days of the NDP, and we have a great PC team that Manitobans have trust in,” he said. “I will do my part to ensure we continue listening and engaging with Manitobans and acting on their priorities.”
Schuler is replacing retiring Midland MLA Blaine Pedersen in the role.
