Retail clothing store Bluenotes has reopened its store in Steinbach’s Clearspring Centre after a long closure.
“We’ve been known in the community and retail world for many, many, many, years and the fact that we were in that market before over 10 years ago so we’re just excited to be back in the area,” said district manager Darian Rubbock.
Bluenotes is a Canadian company since 1942 and was originally called Thrifty’s. The company has more than 120 stores nationwide and five stores in Manitoba.

Bluenotes sells young fashion for teens and those into their 30s. Rubbock said she went to high school in Steinbach and remembers when Bluenotes was in the mall and how that was a destination for people looking for fashionable clothing.
“I know that we were missed in the community and when I saw the opportunity to potentially get back into there I definitely pitched it,” she said. “So knowing that you guys love us, we want to support the community and we want to be where we’re wanted and we can support and have some good business as well.”
The 3,900 sq.ft. store has about 10 employees and is located next to Sport Chek across from Warehouse One.
