The Ste Anne Aces are looking to pick up one more win than they did last season.
Once again the provincial final will see the South East Manitoba Hockey League (SEMHL) champion Aces face off with the Miniota/Elkhorn C-Hawks of the Tiger Hills Hockey League (THHL) for the Manitoba senior championship.
The C-Hawks defeated Killarny 3-1 in the league’s best-of-five final. Miniota/Elkhorn finished in top spot in the western division standings during the regular season.

Last year the C-Hawks defeated the Aces, despite Ste Anne claiming the first game in the best-of-three provincial championship.
The setting will be different, with home ice flipping between the two leagues. Last year the SEMHL had the advantage, but Ste Anne could only book ice inside Winnipeg. While the team is only hosting one game this year, it will be a bit closer, with the team booking the Niverville Resource and Recreation Centre for game two of the series.
The action will get underway April 6 in Virden, with puck drop at 6 p.m. The series will move to Niverville for game two April 13 (4 p.m.). If a game three is needed, it will be the next day in Virden again.
