A Steinbach Chamber of Commerce event that is only entering its second year is already sold out.
No more tickets remain for Taste of Steinbach, an event that brings people together along one long table outdoors to taste the best of local food.
Last year’s event was held on Elmdale Street, selling out the 380 available tickets.
This year the event will be held on May 28 along the taxiway of the Steinbach Airport.
During a presentation to Steinbach city council at their strategic priorities committee meeting on Tuesday, chamber president Tracy Gromniski said all 500 tickets have been sold with other names now on a waiting list.
Despite the hefty price of tickets which cost $1,000 for a table of eight, $145 for an individual chamber member or $185 for a non-member and the fact they increased capacity by 25 percent, Gromniski said they sold out within three weeks.
Local business featured on the menu include Heritage Lane Farms, HyLife, Nature’s Farm, Old Church Bakery, Prairie Oils and Vinegars, Von Slicks and Stone City Coffee Roasters.
