A man is dead, and a man and two women are in custody after a shooting in Otterburne early Wednesday morning. Winnipeg Police followed reports of a pickup truck stolen on Tuesday. After spotting the stolen truck in Winnipeg early Wednesday morning, they chased it down with the help of a helicopter before getting to Otterburne where the suspect rammed into police vehicles before being shot.
The three suspects then fled in the stolen truck to Niverville where the driver parked next to Drovers Run. The driver of the vehicle exited the stolen truck, before stealing a car and fleeing. The woman tried to run away but was arrested by police. The male passenger had a gunshot wound, and medical aid was given to the man who was pronounced dead at the scene.
RCMP also responded to the scene next to the Tim Hortons and Shell where they closed the scene to the public. The shooting happened just after 1 a.m., the pickup truck parked next to the Shell had a tarp over the open driver’s side door.

Saskathewan RCMP arrested the suspect, 29-year-old David Burling, and another adult woman near Springside, Sask. Wednesday afternoon. They were found in a different vehicle from the one stolen in Niverville.
The area was taped off with seven RCMP vehicles overseeing the area. The Tim Hortons and Shell were closed for several hours.
