Manitoba schools will have the opportunity to host a financial workshop for students that comes with a special guest.
Access Credit Union and Bomber player Nic Demski will host the “Tackle Your Finances like a Pro” workshop throughout the next school year.
Access Credit Union describes it as a 60-minute workshop which is fun and interactive, allowing students to learn practical money management skills and tips. Prizes and giveaways will also be included.
Emily Suerman, a financial literacy specialist at Access Credit Union said the workshops were introduced last year.
“We found students were very engaged, asked thoughtful questions, and showed genuine interest in learning how to take control of their financial future,” she said. “We were thrilled to have Winnipeg Blue Bombers player Nic Demski join us at each workshop.
Winnipeg Football Club President and CEO Wade Miller also praised the partnership.
“We are excited with all the interest from the local schools for the Financial Literacy Program and look forward toward building on last year’s success,” he said.
