Fight, collision and more on festival weekend

Steinbach RCMP were describing their weekend as busy, as they highlighted their work during Summer in the City in a Monday press release.
Police say at about 9 p.m. on June 13 they responded to a fight in progress.
“Witnesses identified one of the males who pulled a knife during the fight,” the release stated. “A 20-year-old male, from Steinbach, was arrested for possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose and he was release for a future court date.”
The following day, on June 14 at 5:46 p.m., police and paramedics responded to a collision in the parking lot of a Main Street business.
A 19-year-old male struck a barricade in the parking lot as well as a pedestrian.
The driver was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and released for a later court date. The 21-year-old male victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released.
On June 15, police responded to the hospital on a report of a 54-year-old male who said he’s been shot at with a BB gun and assaulted with a baton. No arrests have been made.
They also responded to break and enters at two local businesses on Keating Road and Reimer Avenue. Three males were arrested and released for future court dates while one male was remanded into custody.
Police also charged 35 people for offences ranging from speeding to dangerous driving, impaired operation of a vehicle, break and enter and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public. A total of 31 provincial offence notices were issued.
