Steinbach’s Red River College campus celebrated graduation at the Southeast Event Centre on June 26, becoming the first group to hold a grad ceremony at the new facility.
A total of 119 graduates from business, community services, education, health sciences and adult learning streams walked the stage in front of friends and family.
They had plenty to be proud of. A full 46 percent of those accepting their diplomas or certificates graduated with honours.

President and CEO of RRC Polytech, Fred Meier, told grads to be proud of what they’ve achieved.
“The credentials you’ve earned are more than just a symbol of academic achievement; they are a gateway to new opportunities and a testament to your readiness to contribute meaningfully in a world that is constantly evolving,” he said.
Meier told the grads that employers will benefit from their fresh perspective, practical experience and commitment to excellence.
“You are equipped to make a difference – not just in your workplace, but in your community and beyond,” he said. “Your success contributes to the growth and prosperity of our province, and we are excited to see the impact you will make.”
Graduates also heard Provencher MP Ted Falk, Steinbach MLA Kelvin Goertzen and Steinbach Mayor Earl Funk.

One graduate also received special recognition.
Stephanie Hiebert was awarded a RRC Polytech gold medal, given to graduates in diploma and degree programs of two academic years or longer who attain the highest cumulative grade point average at or above 3.8. Hiebert was in the Human Resources Management course which falls under the Business Administration program.
