Collision on Highway 12 leads to death of 22-year-old man

A head on collision around midnight on June 30 on Highway 12, one kilometre south of Highway 303 in the RM of Hanover, has led to a death.

Officers arrived on the scene to find one vehicle on its side in the ditch while another was blocking both lanes of the highway.

The 22-year-old male driver of the vehicle on the highway was pronounced dead on the scene. He was from Steinbach. The 20-year-old male driver of the other vehicle was taken to hospital in critical condition but has been upgraded to stable. He was from the RM of De Salaberry.

Steinbach RCMP along with RCMP Criminal Collision Investigation Team continue to investigate.
