Thanks to the Steinbach RCMP and Ste Anne Police, a few drivers went home with lighter wallets on the weekend.

Two of those will also see further consequences thanks to serious offence notices that require a hearing with Manitoba Public Insurance.

A press release regarding the weekend stated that one driver was nabbed travelling 128 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. That driver was fined $672 for careless driving and given a $1,071 fine for speeding.

The other driver also received the $672 careless driving fine and a serious offence notice.

Other fines were issued for open liquor, unlawful transportation of cannabis, driving an unregistered vehicle, disobeying a stop sign and speeding.

Police say they issued six speeding tickets with fines ranging from $251 to $351.

Police were also on the lookout for a 2007 Chevrolet Malibu, stolen from Clear Springs Road in the RM of Hanover.
