Michelle Bezditny will take over the reigns as the interim general manager of the Southeast Event Centre.
In a Tuesday news release, the Southeast Events Group announced that their first ever GM, Jeffrey Bannon, worked his last day on July 30.
“He has played a pivotal role in the growth and success of the company, and we extend our sincere appreciation for his leadership and dedication to the centre,” the news release stated.

Southeast Events Group President Grant Lazaruk wouldn’t comment on why the change is happening but said they’re appreciative of the milestones they’ve reached under Bannon’s tenure.
“We are grateful for the positive impact he has made and wish him continued success in future endeavors,” the release said.
Bezditny will assume responsibility for day-to-day operations while the company searches for a new general manager.
Until June of this year, Bezditny was in charge of Steinbach Economic Development, and headed up the Steinbach Chamber of Commerce in the past.
“We are committed to ensuring a seamless transition and maintaining the high standards of service that our community and partners expect,” they said. “Southeast Events Group Inc. remains focused on delivering exceptional experiences and continuing our mission to bring people together.”
Lazaruk said their new facility not only has made it a model for others considering building their own but will also help attract strong talent.
With the grand opening planned for Aug. 21, he said the future looks bright for the facility.
“We’re really excited about this as we move forward,” he said.
