About Matthew Wiebe

When were you born?

Between 1981 and 1996 (Millennial)

Tell our readers a bit about your professional life. What do you do for a living? If you're an incumbent candidate, what did you do before you entered politics?

I am a Framer by trade, but I have been involved in many different types of work. General contracting, farming, industrial production to name but a few.

What's the highest level of education you've attained?

College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma

How long have you lived in the constituency? If you don't currently live there, what led you to run there instead of where you live?

I have lived in La Verendrye collectively for about 15 years. I have moved many times but find myself always returning.

What is the biggest challenge facing your constituency, and how would you address it?

Infrastructure is one of the biggest challenges. We have a lot of population that travels to Winnipeg daily and the highway upgrades have not kept up with the number of people that travel along it. This causes a lot of accidents and needs to be addressed.

If elected, what will be your first priority?

My first priority would be to address the Highway infrastructure. It's not safe and there's a large number of personal vehicles as well as Semi's and farm equipment. We need to have better access.

My second priority will be to address the pay inequality between the elected officials and their constituents.

Who are your role models in politics, and why?

No response provided.

Tell us something about yourself that voters might find surprising.

I believe that Elected Officials make far too much money, even though I'm running to become one.
