Ste Anne Chinese Restaurant failed four public health inspections in six months, according to an updated list of establishment closures published two weeks ago by Manitoba Health.

The restaurant, located at 555 Traverse Road, was most recently ordered to close from Dec. 31 to Jan. 5 after an inspector found “insanitary conditions, unsafe storage of food, contaminated food, temperature abuse and poor general sanitation.”

On Sept. 4, the restaurant was closed for 24 hours after it failed to ensure potentially hazardous food was kept at a safe internal temperature.

Another 24-hour shutdown was ordered Aug. 25 to address “poor general hygiene” and “poor general sanitation throughout.”

The restaurant also closed for the day on July 8 after “gross insanitary conditions” were found.

The restaurant could not be reached Monday for comment.

Falcon Lake Resort recorded two violations since last summer.

On Aug. 5, an inspector found fault with the condition of the kitchen’s dishwasher, faucets, ceiling, and ventilation canopy.

Pool decking and stair edging, which must be free of loose tiles, were found in a state of disrepair that same day. Bacteriological test results from the pool were also deemed unacceptable.
