David Richert’s first experience in a Formula 2 car has to be considered a success.
The Niverville driver finished sixth in the Boss GP race at the historic Monza track in Italy. Richert’s pace over the weekend was even better than his final finishing position, as he put up the second-best times in both practice sessions.

Those strong results, racing under wet conditions, meant Richert was qualifying in the advanced group of cars, only allowed to set a qualifying time in three laps.
Those qualifying laps would be Richert’s first experience driving a Formula 2 car under dry conditions, and he managed to guide the car to a second row starting position (3rd place).
The first race of the weekend came to an early end for Richert. After thunderstorms postponed the start of the race, an unfortunate slide into waterlogged grass spelt the end of his day.
Richert noted he was more cautious in the second race of the weekend, but used a late safety car to make up ground to finish sixth, just three tenths of a second behind the fourth place driver.
“The weather made it exceptionally challenging but it’s not in my control, so I’m happy we made the best of a difficult situation,” Richert said.

“Hopefully we can take care of the business side of racing now and find the corporate partners necessary to get back into this car… I’m confident we can win races in this championship.”
