The flow of gasoline, diesel and jet fuel has come to a halt after Imperial Oil shut down a pipeline that runs between Gretna and a Winnipeg terminal.
While they say there are no leaks, Imperial Oil said they need to undertake repairs after preventative maintenance identified integrity concerns in a section of pipe just south of St Adolphe.
“The line was not compromised and no materials were spilled into the environment,” a press release from the province of Manitoba said.
The province is overseeing the repair work.
While repairs are being completed, the province has convened what they call a supplier table made up of Manitoba’s largest fuel suppliers to help keep the flow going.
