The Southeast Event Centre construction continues on schedule and Steinbach city council was given a look at the progress made as part of a second quarter report delivered by Adam Thiessen, manager of corporate services.
Photos showed the east parking lot expansion is well underway with base material installed for a parking lot roughly equivalent in size to the Walmart parking lot.
Council was told the concrete floors are going into the community hall and gym, work has begun on the second-floor washrooms, the AV room and press box is being framed in and the ice plant will be running to provide the T.G. Smith arena with ice in August.
The arena floor, atrium, exterior weather proofing and sheeting is underway, and the metal sheeting is expected to go on the outside of the building in the next few months.
Exterior glass is also going in.
Council was told that so far, a total of $43.6 million has been billed up to June 28.
