Supernatural will take to the stage at the Centre Culturel Franco-Manitobain as part of the Winnipeg Fringe Theatre Festival thanks to Lorette native Patrick Gregoire.

Gregoire Entertainment will present what he calls a psychological magic show as part of Fringe, a show that delves into the intriguing question of whether the seemingly random events in life are truly random or predetermined by some hidden force.

“I can essentially read the future like a book, and I explain all that in the show itself, so I don’t want to reveal more than that,” he said. “But the discovery has led me to believe that everything may be predetermined, controlled by some invisible force which is why I call the show Supernatural.”

Gregoire said the show is a series of crazy coincidences and interactive experiences.

With two Fringe shows under his belt, including Dangerous Magic in 2017 and Mindreader in 2023, Gregoire is no stranger to the festival stage.

It’s a break from his corporate gigs that he welcomes, having the opportunity to perform for people who came specifically for the show, instead of a large group who attended a conference or office party.

The inspiration for this show was already beginning to grow last year and Gregoire said it was about a 10-month process to make it complete.

“I like playing with concepts of things that people are not sure about,” he said. “Science is revealing a lot of truths and things we didn’t know but these areas are still shrouded in mystery. Can we know what people are thinking? Do we have free will? Is the future undetermined or unknown?”

Gregoire believes the show will be one people will enjoy.

“I do my best to give them an experience with music and showmanship and interactivity and unique effects,” he said.

Supernatural offers 11 shows through Fringe, with performances every night from July 17 to July 28 with the exception of July 22.

Start times range from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
