Falcon Beach RCMP utilized a drone and a dog to take down a suspect first spotted on video surveillance.
Police say that on July 15 at about 9:30 p.m., they were informed of a possible break-in at a Hadashville property. A male was seen entering the private property on video surveillance.
RCMP responded along with Police Dog Services and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems.
Police first found an abandoned vehicle with no licence plates outside the property. The vehicle was confirmed stolen out of Abbotsford, B.C. thanks to plates found inside the vehicle.
After containing the area, police used the drone to find the suspect running through a neighbouring property and hiding in an abandoned building.
“As police officers closed in on the suspect, he gave up and was arrested without incident,” police said.
The suspect was arrested and taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries that police say were unrelated to this incident.
