In what organizers are describing as what could be the first annual event, Giroux A’s Day was held Sept. 8.

The community event, held at the local baseball diamond brought 60 people to play baseball, and take part in old fashioned kids races.

“From three-legged races, potato sack races, bubble gum blowing contest, egg on a spoon and wheelbarrow races it brought smiles, laughter and a hint of nostalgia to those in attendance,” organizer Kyle Waczko said.

While baseball took the form of scrub, Waczko said it brought back memories of the great teams that played on the local diamond over the years.

He added that they appreciate all the people and sponsors that made this happen, and look forward to next year.
