Weeks after three friends from Mitchell and Landmark won nearly $4,000 in One Great Lottery, another local ticket buyer cashed in. Marti Dueck won $1,000 and was presented with the oversize cheque at South East Helping Hands on Dec. 19. Dueck, who won the prize on her birthday admitted she initially thought the phone call was a scam, but was happy to realize it was in fact true. South East Helping Hands is one of 55 charities that ticket buyers can support through the lottery. The lottery raised over $2 million in the last couple of years.
