The Steinbach Arts Council presents Manitoba Theatre For Young People’s Blue Beads and Blueberries. This family show will be held on April 11 at 7 p.m. in the SRSS Theatre. Written by Erin Macklem and directed by Katie German, the play follows a young girl who goes through a journey of self-discovery after a conflict with her father. This show highlights Métis culture and is suitable for children aged 5-12.

This event is made possible with support from Steinbach Hatchery, Mark & Bonnie Loewen, and the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation.

“In Search of TreAsARRG” sets sail for Steinbach

The Backyard Theatre Company presents “In Search of TreasARRG” on April 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the SRSS Theatre. Tickets ($10/person) go on sale March 4. “In Search of TreasARRG” takes audiences on a thrilling pirate adventure filled with humour and excitement. The story follows two rival pirate crews, led by Black Barrel Billy and Captain Cut-Lassie, as they race to uncover the legendary treasure of Goldbeard. With unexpected twists, a bumbling admiral, and a sea serpent guarding secrets, this production promises to be a delightful spectacle for families of all ages.

The Steinbach Arts Council is once again opening registrations for Spring Breakout Camp. Designed for ages 5-12, this exciting camp offers hands-on activities in music, theater, visual arts, culinary arts, and dance. Spring classes launch for first time

After 45 years of dedicated service, the Steinbach Arts Council (SAC) is thrilled to announce the launch of Spring Classes, with registration currently open. This initiative responds to community demand for year-round creative opportunities, addressing growing waitlists for fall and winter programming.

The Spring Class term will feature diverse offerings, including creative wellness, visual arts, and cultural workshops. Favorites like Beginner II Watercolor and Mixed Media for Youth will return.

RMTC’s Murder for Two

The Steinbach Arts Council is set to conclude its 45th Anniversary Concert Series with a thrilling performance of Murder for Two by the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre (RMTC). This high-energy musical whodunit will take place on Tuesday, March 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the SRSS Theatre, located at 190 McKenzie Ave. The show promises a delightful mix of comedy and mystery, featuring two actors portraying multiple characters alongside a piano, making it a perfect homage to classic murder mysteries. Don’t miss this exciting finale!

FREE Culinary Workshop in Partnership with Healthy Together Now and Southern Health

The Steinbach Arts Council, in collaboration with Southern Health-Santé Sud and Healthy Together Now, presents a free Culinary Workshop Series for participants aged 16 and older. Led by instructor Cassandra Kornelsen, the workshops will be held on Feb. 5, Feb. 19, and March 5, 2025, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Attendees will gain practical skills in meal budgeting, food preparation, and the use of culinary tools, promoting healthy lifestyles and mental well-being. This initiative aims to foster community connections and equip participants with valuable resources for better grocery shopping and meal portioning.

Steinbach Arts Council Seeks Exhibitors for Newly Expanded Hall Gallery for Year 2025-2026

The Steinbach Arts Council is inviting artists of all backgrounds to showcase their work in our newly expanded gallery space. We encourage student and emerging artists to submit a portfolio, including 3-5 photos of original artwork and a brief biography. With the capacity to display 15-30 pieces, we welcome a variety of mediums, particularly those suited for hung wall displays.
