The girls team is headed to Virden this weekend to play in a provincial qualifier, while the boys team is off to Winkler.

It was another sweep in the AA ranks, with the Gabrielle-Roy Les Roys picking up both banners. The Ile des Chenes-based school’s boys team beat Grunthal’s Green Valley School 89-68, with the girls taking out Powerview 64-26.

Les Roys are hosting a boys and girls provincial qualifier March 8, in hopes of advancing to the AA finals in Flin Flon.

Wanipigow defeated Whitemouth in an all northern match-up for the Zone 13 A banner. On the girls side, Sprague’s Ross L Gray Raiders were dominant, defeating Pinawa and Wanipigow by a combined 136-19 en route to the banner. They’re in Pine Creek to try and qualify for their provincials.

Zone 13 is hosting the A/AA and AAA junior varsity boys provincial basketball championships, with Ross L Gray taking the A/AA tournament and Niverville welcoming the AAA teams. Those tournaments are set to tip off March 13-15.
