LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Steinbach must focus on current issues

The Steinbach City Council appears to prioritize new development while overlooking long standing issues within the community. The Home Street swale has been a persistent problem for many years, yet no meaningful steps been taken to address it. Recently, the city announced an increase in taxes to fund the construction of larger sewer mains to accommodate development, but there has been no progress on resolving the Home Street issue. It is crucial that the mayor and council focus on addressing the needs of all areas of the city, not just the interests of developers and new development.
