Applications are now open for new grants announced by Access Credit Union.
Called the focused funding grant, the 2025 focus is aimed at supporting school nutrition and wellness programs across the province.
A total of $250,000 will be distributed in the form of 10 $25,000 grants.
“This year’s grant will prioritize projects that improve kitchen facilities to allow for adequate space and equipment for storage, preparation and serving needs,” a press release stated. “By addressing these needs, Access Credit Union aims to improve access to nutritious meals, which are crucial for their academic and personal developments.”
All public schools in Manitoba can apply for the grants provided they pre-approved by the respective school division and include a letter of support from school administrators.

The grant will have a new focus annually to address a variety of community needs.
Board chair Curt Letkeman said they’re excited about the inaugural year, saying they’re looking forward to seeing the impact it can make on local schools.
“By supporting nutrition and wellness programs, we are helping to create a healthier, more vibrant community,” he said.
Applications are being accepted until June 1.
