Summer Arts Day Camp at SAC is filling up fast

Summer Arts Day Camp is expanding to an incredible eight weeks this year! Pick your week between June 30 to Aug. 22. Get ready for an unforgettable summer filled with art, music, dance, and so much more! We’re bringing in professional clinicians and amazing camp directors to ensure your child is safe and healthy in our camps.

We are looking for camp directors

The Steinbach Arts Council has positions open for camp directors, assistant camp directors and assistants for our Spring Break Out! Camp and Summer Arts Day Camp. If you’re someone who likes working around children, has great planning and problem-solving skills, and has interests in music, dance, theatre, culinary art and visual art, we’d like to hear from you!

The ideal candidate must be willing to provide a criminal record check and child abuse record check.

Steinbach Arts Council to host 45th anniversary gala

The Steinbach Arts Council proudly announces its Fundraising Gala on Friday, May 2. This milestone event celebrates decades of community impact and supports free youth programming, bursaries for those in need, and subsidized arts and culture recreation for all ages. The evening features local cuisine, fine wines, live entertainment, a curated auction, live art, and an anniversary edition jewelry piece by GNM Fine Jewellers.

Manitoba Theatre for Young People comes to Steinbach for a concert for kids

The Steinbach Arts Council present Manitoba Theatre for Young People’s Blue Beads and Blueberries. This family show will be held on April 11 at 7 p.m. in the SRSS Theatre. Written by Erin Macklem and directed by Katie German, Blue Beads and Blueberries transforms an ancient fairy tale into a celebration of Métis culture. This show is perfect for children aged 5-12, making it a great family outing!

This event is made possible with support from Steinbach Hatchery & Feeds, Mark & Bonnie Loewen, and the Million Dollar Round Table Foundation.

Flipside Opera performs at Steinbach Arts Council’s house concert-style studio series

The Flipside Opera event promises an enchanting evening of music and connection. On April 13, at 7 p.m., the SCU Studio at the Steinbach Arts Council will host an intimate performance featuring soprano Judith Oatway, pianist Lisa Rumpel, and tenor Aaron Hutton. The event offers a unique opportunity to experience musical theatre hits, soulful songs, and opera offerings up close, with coffee and light refreshments served.

“In Search of TreasARRG” sets sail for Steinbach in Backyard Theatre Company Production

The Backyard Theatre Company presents “In Search of TreasARRG” on Tues. April 15, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the SRSS Theatre. Tickets ($10/person) are on sale now! “In Search of TreasARRG” takes audiences on a thrilling pirate adventure filled with humor and excitement. The story follows two rival pirate crews, led by Black Barrel Billy and Captain Cut-Lassie, as they race to uncover the legendary treasure of Goldbeard. With unexpected twists, a bumbling admiral, and a sea serpent guarding secrets, this production promises to be a delightful spectacle for families of all ages.

Steinbach Arts Council seeks exhibitors for newly expanded Hall Gallery for 2025-2026

The Steinbach Arts Council is inviting artists of all backgrounds to showcase their work in our newly expanded gallery space. We encourage student and emerging artists to submit a portfolio, including 3-5 photos of original artwork and a brief biography. With the capacity to display 15-30 pieces, we welcome a variety of mediums, particularly those suited for hung wall displays.
