Four new businesses were approved to open in Niverville during Tuesday’s council meeting.

About 20 people attended. After each business received approval, the room filled with scattered clapping and congratulatory exchanges.

Coun. Nathan Dueck said that it’s great there are lots of businesses coming to town, but garbage could become a concern.

Atelier Cycle

Atelier Cycle is a workout space offering group fitness classes like spin, a stationary indoor cycling workout, barre, a workout that blends yoga and Pilates exercises, and barre fusion.

The name Atelier is French for studio.

Business partners, Maxine Carels and Stephanie Compte plans to open the Main Street studio in late November 2025. Operating hours are from 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day.

Atelier Cycle aims to have five to six classes per day. It will feature 18 stationary bikes for riders, and a second room with a capacity for 12 to 15 people.

Carels currently has two studios: Rhythm Cycle Club and The Studio on Sask.

She said she was inspired to open her third studio in Niverville after hearing about the town from a friend and she decided to visit, drive around town, and research.

Carels said they plan to hire locally, similar to what she did for her other studios.

Warehouse Family Entertainment

Warehouse Family Entertainment is a new arcade space that will have golf simulators, axe throwing, and games.

“In rural communities, there’s often a lack of spaces where people can hang out socially and do some sort of activity,” said Trevor Rempel, CEO of Warehouse Family Entertainment. “It’s either sports or nothing. Sports or just sit at the restaurant.”

Rempel said he hopes to have the facility open before Christmas.

It will operate seven days a week, mostly at a self-serve capacity, but it will be staffed during after-school hours. The golf simulator and axe throwing activities will only be open when staff are on-site.

“We’re trying to make it as self-serve as possible,” said Rempel.

The operating hours haven’t been determined.

Rempel said he is exploring to host trivia nights and E-sports tournaments.

“This isn’t just a place to come play arcade games for an hour. We want this to be a great hangout spot for people of all ages,” he said. “It brings that convenience to Niverville, rather than people always having to drive to the city for anything they want to do socially.”

Warehouse Family Entertainment will have self-serve kiosks, and instead of paper tickets, people will use a card that will track their tickets.

The arcade will also have a party space.

George’s Burgers & Subs

George’s Burgers & Subs, a fast-food chain, will have direct access to its next-door neighbour, Warehouse Family Entertainment. People can move between the facilities through a sliding door and its patio.

Prime Physiotherapy

Prime Physiotherapy, a new clinic, will also open in town. It will also offer massage therapy services from LaShawn Giesbrecht.

Negash Coffee

Negash Coffee, an existing business in the strip mall, will soon expand to include a drive-thru and an outdoor patio.
