Traffic plan changes for construction zone

A new approach and temporary gravel lane extending on Loewen Boulevard will allow access to businesses located on parts of Highway 12 as part of an updated traffic management plan announced by the City of Steinbach and implemented Thursday.

The plan allows crews to complete pavement work on Highway 12 southbound while maintaining access to businesses on the northwest corner of Loewen and Highway 12.

No other changes will be made at this time with the city saying all traffic will continue to use the northbound lanes south of Millwork Drive until south of Elmdale Street.

“The city thanks a drivers and residents for exercising caution and following signage when travelling in the area, and for their patience as work on the Loewen / Highway 12 intersection renewal project continues,” they said in a press release.
