The Niverville Force’s chances to earn promotion to the top division of soccer in Manitoba took an early season hit, as the team has picked up three losses in their first five games in Division 1 of the Manitoba Major Soccer League.

With the top two teams in division one, Northern United and Union Deportiva Manitoba (UDM) combining for only a single loss this season, the Force will need strong results to climb back into the fight.

Niverville dropped a match to UDM 5-2 in Niverville June 24.

There’s no rest in the schedule for the Force, as they’ll be hosted top ranked Northern United July 3 at 7:30 p.m.

In Division 2, the Hanover Kickers are 2-2 and in the middle of the standings table on the season, picking up wins in both of their home games this season, including a 2-1 victory over MGM Sher-E-Punjab SC June 19.

Two more Hanover teams, the Sting and Strikers are playing in Division 3 of the MMSL. The Strikers have been solid in their conference, as their 4-1-1 record is good enough for third in the standings. That record includes a 5-1 victory over Thunder FC June 17, where the team scored five straight after conceding early in the match.

The Sting have faltered a bit more, with a 2-4-1 record.

In the lowest (fifth) division, Landmark FC has six points with a 2-3 record.
