BTC Musical Theatre, sponsored by Nature’s Farm Food Shed, is proud to announce its new musical theatre classes for ages six to 16, These weekly sessions offer a comprehensive blend of acting, singing, and dancing, alongside hands-on experience in stagecraft, prop building, lighting, costumes, and makeup. This program is designed to cultivate confidence, creativity, and essential performance skills, providing a nurturing and supportive environment for all young participants. It’s an opportunity for local youth to connect, express themselves, and contribute our community.

Classes are scheduled for Wednesdays, running from Sept. 17, 2025, to April 21, 2026. No auditions required.

CULTURE& HERITAGE WORKSHOPS AT SAC

Our workshops offer engaging, hands-on experiences led by expert instructors, covering diverse artistic techniques and cultural traditions. Participants of all skill levels can explore crafts like cultural papercutting, weaving, and stained glass, along with practical skills such as canning and candle making. These sessions provide a unique opportunity to be creative, learn new skills, and connect with our community.

Preservative Canning Workshop (16+)

Learn safe water bath canning for vegetables like tomatoes and cucumbers to preserve your harvest.

Beginner Stained Glass (16+)

Learn ancient stained glass techniques to create two glass pieces.

Sept. 20

Cultural Papercutting Art Workshop (16+)

Explore basic papercutting techniques and create your first piece, with an introduction to global art history.

Oct. 4

Finger Weaving Workshop (5+)

Learn Métis weaving history and techniques to create patterned sashes or bands.

Sourdough Bread (14+)

Master sourdough bread making including starter maintenance and fermentation.

Driftwood Wind Chime Making Workshop (13+)

Create unique, nature-inspired wind chimes using driftwood, beads, and natural elements.

Holiday Dip Workshop (16+)

Learn to make a variety of crowd-pleasing, festive dips for holiday gatherings.

Filipino “Parol” Christmas Lantern Making (18+)

Learn the history and craft your own traditional Filipino parol lantern with bamboo, paper, and LED lights.

Candle Making Workshop (Ages 15+)

Craft custom candles, experimenting with wax types, wicks, fragrances, and colors.

STEINBACH ARTS COUNCIL RELEASES 2025-2026 CONCERT SERIES DETAILS

SAC proudly announces its 2025–2026 Concert Series, featuring five captivating music and theatre performances. Showcasing top Canadian talent, the series promises to entertain and inspire audiences of all ages in Steinbach.

The season includes:

Ian Sherwood: Thursday, Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m., SRSS Theatre. Kicking off the series, this Canadian Folk Music Award winner brings his east coast charm, storytelling, and genre-blurring folk-pop. Sponsored by Herbsigwil Farms

Prairie Sons: Sunday, Nov. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Featuring cellist David Liam Roberts and pianist Godwin Friesen, this duo, named to CBC’s “Hot 30 Classical Musicians Under 30,” delivers electrifying classical performances.

Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra Holiday Tour: Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m., Crossview Church. Bring in the holiday season with this beloved family-friendly tradition, featuring special guests Erin Propp & Larry Roy. Sponsored by Three Way Builders.

Proximus 5: Friday, Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m., Grace Church. This acclaimed male a cappella group from Winnipeg will stun with impeccable harmonies, spanning ancient choral to contemporary pop, including a collaboration with the SRSS Chamber Choir.

Hockey Mom, Hockey Dad: Sunday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m., SRSS Theatre. Rounding out the season, the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre’s Regional Tour presents this hilarious and heartfelt play about finding love in a minor hockey rink.
