The province has issued a boil water advisory for the Piney pail fill station, after test results found bacteria growth.
The tests were completed on Aug. 24 and found coliform bacteria in the samples taken from the Piney Fire Base water system, also known as the pail fill station, the notice said.
Both Manitoba’s Medical Officer of Health and the Office of Drinking Water issued the boil water advisory on Aug. 27.
The advisory recommends boiling water from the station for one minute if it’s used for drinking, preparing food or brushing teeth.
The advisory will be in effect until “this water system no longer presents a risk to public health,” the notice said.
Piney’s water station was previously shut down on July 18 after a provincial inspection said upgrades to the station were needed. The province reopened the station two weeks later, saying the requirements were misrepresented.
