Steinbach teen dies in crash with train

A 15-year-old Steinbach male is dead after hitting a train while operating a dirt bike.
RCMP say Oakbank and Beausejour detachments responded to the site on Pleasant Road, located just south of Highway 15 in the RM of Springfield at 1:05 p.m.
“Officers have determined that a dirt bike, travelling south on Pleasant Road, being operated by a 15-year-old male from Steinbach, collided with a westbound CN train,” police stated in a Tuesday press release.
The male was found dead at the scene.
Oakbank RCMP, CN Police and an RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
