Southeast Men’s Group has launched a website as a resource for men in the region.

“We did it because we wanted it to be a resource for men to know where to get help,” said co-founder Jeremy Wiens.

The website has a list of resources that men can access for mental health matters. There is also news and events pages where meeting dates are posted and news about the group can be read.

“There’s also a contact page where if men don’t know where to go or where to start and they need to reach out to somebody. It’s a safe place where they can message in an email and we will reach out and we will respond to everyone that does and make sure that we connect some way shape or form,” said Wiens.

Between 20 to 30 men come out to the meetings every third Tuesday of the month at Club Jovial in Ste Anne.

“We started Southeast events group because there were so few supports out there for men. We just couldn’t find any so we really started this with that goal in mind. Now we have people who travel almost an hour just to come and see us to participate in our men’s group and that to me tells me that there’s not a lot out there,” noted Wiens.
