New clinic to open at Clearspring Centre next spring

A new clinic is set to open in Clearspring Centre next spring which will bring two new family doctors to the community.

“Well, it’s made for the community because of the fact that a lot of people in Steinbach do not have a family doctor. And there’s a very limited amount of people that can access the walk-in clinic or the quick care clinic. So this will give people an extra opportunity to have another walk-in clinic available to them in Steinbach,” said Clearspring general manager Gerald Jeske.

Wright 1 Care Medical Services will establish itself in a 2,500 sq-ft space by Winners. The company has been in business in Winnipeg for the last 10 years and owner Sylvia Wright said her passion is helping others.

“Are goal is to open up these businesses and offer the community the best and caring service possible,” wrote Wright in a letter to Mayor Earl Funk and the community of Steinbach. “As we grow in the Steinbach community and get more established we will be adding more services. We are a team that understands people’s health conditions and strive to give the best care possible.”

Services offered include a sleep clinic with a doctor specializing in sleep, a weight loss clinic, a laser clinic, a pharmacy, a menopause clinic, and Wright 1 Care Home Care Services which provides care in the patient’s home.

“I think it’s wonderful that more doctors and companies are coming to Steinbach. This is what we needed. This is what we’ve advocated for. This is what we’ve gone to the province and fought for,” said Mayor Earl Funk.

Funk said Steinbach is an attractive place for doctors because of the city’s many amenities and its proximity to Winnipeg.

Jeske said there are many amenities for the clinic to open at Clearspring, including mall hours, accessible and available parking, the vibrancy of the mall, and the location in the mall.

“We know about the needs of what the community is needing and striving to eliminate the drive to (the) city for our clients,” wrote Wright.
