The Hanover-Tache Junior Hockey League is bigger this year, and in more ways than one.

The league has expanded once again this season, adding Warren to make an 11-team league. This is the third consecutive year the HTJHL has added teams.

With 11 teams, the league has scrapped the division format, going back to one big group of standings. Teams will play a 30-game schedule, an increase of six games compared to last year. Each franchise will play each opponent three times throughout a season.

A new standings means a new playoff format. Every team will play some form of post-season, with teams finishing between sixth and 11th playing in a best-of-three play-in round. The quarterfinals will be a best-of-five, with the semi-finals and finals best-of-seven series, completed before March 31.

The season kicked off this weekend, with the final regular season game of the season scheduled for Feb. 8.
