Re: “Hanover trustees pass motion to delegitimize mature minor designation,” (June 11, issue of The Carillon).

To the trustees of the Hanover School Division, I commend you for respecting the choice of parents over that of health-care providers and resources workers. These organizations and their employees are government-funded and should not try to parent our children. It is the role of a parent to parent. The role of the government is to govern – to keep law and order. Government does not have the right to impose their dogma onto our children – that is not their jurisdiction. Go away.

I write to the children who are confused about their identity. I’m sorry you have no one you can confide in. Listen to the Good Shepherd. He is kind and loving and sees and feels your pain. Don’t let anyone deceive you. God loves you. Let him cradle you in his arms and carry you. You don’t have to change anything about yourself. Don’t get a sex change! You are perfect, just the way you are.

You don’t have anyone to confide in? Confide in God! He’s already cried buckets of tears for you. He bled for you. Listen to that Imagine Dragons song, “bleeding out.” He bled out for you, my friend. Even our parents and caregivers fail us – but Jesus will never do that to you – Never! Please, I plead with you to follow him. That’s what I’m doing. I still have pain, but that’s okay. Life is good.

You can obey God. It isn’t easy – you must be disciplined – like a spiritual Samurai, but you can do it. God will help you and give you the strength and he will be a shield around you. It’s like being Iron Man when you connect with God – he gives you strength and power. You can obey him. The Holy Spirit will empower you. You can have a good life.

I write to the writer of the article and to Dr T. Sheppard-Luangkhot. As you study and report on the extreme right (people like me) remember that right-wing views and violence are not synonymous. There are also strong arguments to be made about the damage that the extreme left has left in its wake. Balanced journalism requires that you report on both extremes.

I write to parents. You don’t have to send your children to public school. Many classes are highly disruptive and undisciplined. Teachers are overwhelmed. There are other options including home-school, and private school. It will cost you, but what is the alternative? Remember that once you send your children to government-funded schools, you abdicate your own authority over to them. You have given charge of your children to them, and they have explicitly stated that if their values conflict with yours, they will not listen to you. They will impose their own views on your children whether you like it or not. If you honestly don’t think you can withdraw your children from school, then beg God to keep your children safe from deception. Read the Bible with them. Affirm who they are. Teach them ahead-of-time about the dangers of the government’s powerful propaganda machine.

I write to the government. How do you know your current moral values are correct? What standard are you using? How do you know your thinking is valid if you rely on your own thinking to confirm it? Isn’t this circular reasoning? Why not rely on a standard outside of yourself – one that has stood the test of time and has much better results?
